CALORIE CONSCIOUSNESS.
Although the average person requires roughly 2000 calories a day to maintain their weight, this amount varies among people depending on their age, gender, activity levels, lifestyle, fitness goals and other factors. Hence, calorific estimation will likely not be the same for everyone. Usually, there are algorithms and equations that estimate this, but the more convenient approach would be to use online calculators (such as omnicalculator) or apps (such as myFitnesspal). These tend to be less cumbersome and easier to understand.
Example:
For instance, if Serena Terry is a 45 year old woman that currently weighs 135 pounds and is about 5’5” tall. She wishes to maintain her weight and is moderately active. How many calories would she need, and what break down of macro nutrients (proteins, fats and carbs) would be the most suitable based on her lifestyle?
